2022 Research Congress
October 24-25, 2022
A researcher who is either an SLSU faculty member or an employee with a research project completed from 2019 up to the present, whether published or unpublished, and which had undergone Agency In-House Review (AIHR) is eligible to join. On the other hand, SLSU researchers who completed personally-funded research projects that were not subjected to AIHR may still join; however, their full paper will be subjected to the paper review of the Institutional Research Evaluation Committee before qualifying as an entry. Entries must be submitted via email at research@slsu.edu.ph or slsuresearchoffice@gmail.com using the format found here.
The invited external panel of experts will evaluate the presentations based on the following criteria:
PURE/BASIC RESEARCH CATEGORY
Significance of Findings (60%)
Contribution to knowledge/S&T advancement
Relevance to national/regional development
Manuscript/Write-up (30%)
Creativity, originality, and quality of work
Accuracy of figures and language
Clarity and style
Cogency and logic
Presentation (10%)
Clarity of presentation
Mastery of the topic
Response to inquiries

Each oral presenter shall be given 15 minutes to present/discuss their paper. Only one (1) presenter shall be allowed to present their paper. Other members of the group shall only serve as observers. The evaluators will be given a chance to raise questions during the Q&A portion. The specific scheduled arrangements per session must be strictly followed. An assigned timekeeper and moderator will signal the presenters and evaluators of the remaining time left for each session.
The evaluators will rate the presentations and the ORS will consolidate the scores to determine the Outstanding Research per category. On the other hand, the Most Outstanding Research award shall be given to the researcher or group of researchers who received the highest score based on the standard criteria. The Commendable Research recognition will be awarded to the research that is next in rank to the Outstanding for Research and Development Category in terms of score received. The awardees will be announced during the closing ceremonies of the S&T Week Celebration. They will be awarded the following cash prizes as stipulated in the REPDI Manual of Operations approved via BOR Resolution 53, s. 2021:
Most Outstanding Research – 50,000
Outstanding for the Research Category – 30,000
Outstanding for the Development Category – 30,000
Commendable Research – 20,000
In addition, awardees will receive plaques that will be awarded during the upcoming PRAISE ceremony.
Also, during the same closing ceremonies, a special recognition shall also be awarded to the top three (3) Most GAD-Responsive Research among the presented projects in the Research Congress based on the evaluation of the SLSU GAD Office. The recognized research teams shall receive the following:
1st – 20,000 + Plaque + Commemoratives
2nd – 15,000 + Plaque + Commemoratives
3rd – 10,000 + Plaque + Commemoratives
