How to apply for institutional funding?
Download the Form A (Capsule Proposal Format), Form B-2 (Work Plan), Form B-3 (Line-Item Budget), and Form C (List of Personnel Involved), then fill them out accordingly.
Seek the written endorsement of your College Dean/Campus Directors and Research Coordinators before submitting your capsule proposal.
You may send the endorsement letter, capsule proposal, and the other forms via email at research@slsu.edu.ph or you may upload it using the submission portal found in this page. Please send the editable version of the forms.
The ORS will notify you of the receipt of your submission via email. It will undergo originality checking and you shall be notified with its result via email in at most seven (7) working days. If it passed the checking, you shall proceed with the writing of the full proposal using Form B (Detailed R&D Proposal) and the filling out of Forms B-1 (Executive Summary), B-4 (Logical Framework), and B-5 (GAD Score Checklist). Otherwise, if it failed the checking, you shall be requested to make necessary revisions before re-submitting your proposal.
The submitted full proposal and its attachments shall be initially screened by the ORS Secretariat. You shall receive initial comments on the details you included in your submission. Once you complied with the recommendations, you shall be invited to present in the Institutional Research Evaluation Committee (IREC) Screening. The proposals that will pass the IREC Screening shall undergo evaluation of external experts in the Agency In-House Review.
You shall revise your proposal based on the recommendations of the evaluators and it must pass the Plagiarism Checking of the Innovation and Technology Support Services Office (ITSSO). Once complied, the ORS shall present your proposal to the Research and Extension Council to seek its endorsement, and eventually to the SLSU Board of Regents to gain the approval of your request for funding.
Terms and Conditions:
Only one proposal per Project Leader shall be granted with institutional funding. Succeeding grant requests shall only be made upon completion of the funded research.
Grant periods vary according to the approved research project duration or time frame.
The amount of grant shall include the following items:
Travel
Supplies and materials
Rentals (except for facilities that are already available in the university)
Professional/Expert Services (detailed)
Communication expenses
Printing and publication
IPR-related expenses
Grant recipient is allowed to purchase materials for use in the research projects subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
Approved proposals shall be covered by a duly notarized Research Contracts between researcher and the university.
Any change in the schedule and manner of the grant, requires a written request and justification from the Project Leader. The request is subject to the review of the VP-REPDI and the approval of the President.
