2022 Intercollegiate Research Conference
October 26-27, 2022
In this two-day event, the participants from various colleges and campuses shall present their research projects under the Basic/Pure Research Category and Development/Applied Research Category. SLSU Colleges and Campuses are allowed to submit a maximum of (2) entries for each category. The winners from their previous research colloquiums shall be eligible to represent them as long as those papers were not yet presented in the previous Intercollegiate Research Conferences. For the colleges and campuses that did not conduct Research Colloquium recently, they may select their entry among the best papers of their students that were not yet presented on the same platform. Entries must be submitted via email at research@slsu.edu.ph or slsuresearchoffice@gmail.com using the format found here.
An external panel of experts shall be invited to evaluate the presented papers based on the following set of criteria:
PURE/BASIC RESEARCH CATEGORY
Significance of Findings (60%)
Contribution to knowledge/S&T advancement
Relevance to national/regional development
Manuscript/Write-up (30%)
Creativity, originality, and quality of work
Accuracy of figures and language
Clarity and style
Cogency and logic
Presentation (10%)
Clarity of presentation
Mastery of the topic
Response to inquiries

Technical feasibility
Financial/economic viability

Each oral presenter shall be given 15 minutes to present/discuss their paper. Only one (1) presenter shall be allowed to present their paper. Other members of the group shall only serve as observers. The evaluators will be given a chance to raise questions during the Q&A portion. The specific scheduled arrangements per session must be strictly followed. An assigned timekeeper and moderator will signal the presenters and evaluators of the remaining time left for each session. The evaluators will rate the presentations and the ORS will consolidate the scores to determine the best papers under each category. The awardees will be announced during the closing ceremonies of the S&T Week Celebration. They will receive plaques and cash prizes as follows:

Development/Applied Research

Besides the oral presentations, there will also be a poster competition. The same participating research teams shall be requested to submit a high-resolution electronic copy of their poster that will fit a 2ft x 5ft tarpaulin when printed.
The Best Posters for each category shall be determined based on the following criteria:
Content (60%)
Complete/sufficient data
Short and easily understood
Features breakthrough
Relevant to the needs
Relevance to national/regional development
Design (30%)
Originality
Clarity of visuals
Coherence of the elements presented
Appeal and attractiveness to the target clientele
Total Impact (10%)
Appeal and attractiveness to the target clientele
The certificate and cash award per poster category (Research Category and Development Category) shall be sponsored by the SLSU GAD Office. The amounts specified below shall be awarded during the closing ceremonies of the S&T Week Celebration.
1st - 3,000 + Certificate
2nd - 2,000 + Certificate
3rd - 1,000 + Certificate
